Local convergence  of the Gauss-Newton method for injective-overdetermined systems of equations under a majorant condition, Part I
Resumo: A local convergence analysis of the Gauss-Newton method for solving  injective-overdetermined  systems of nonlinear equations under a majorant condition is provided. The convergence  as well as results on its rate are established  without a convexity hypothesis on the derivative of the majorant function. The optimal convergence radius,  the biggest range for  uniqueness of the solution along with  some other special cases are also obtained.

no princípio majorante.

Operador proximal e algoritmo forward-backward

Resumo: Segundo Bausche & Combette, ?The theory of convex functions is most powerful in the presence of lower semicontinuity. A key property of lower semicontinuous convex function is the existence of a continuous affine minorant, ??

A Dengue Model with Multiple Serotype Interactions
Abstract: A mathematical model descibed by differential equations to study the evolution dynamics of dengue fever is presented. The model cover the posibility of sequential infections with two different serotypes. Moreover, it  takes into account interaction of human and mosquito populations as well as vertical transmission in the mosquito population.  We find the basic reproduction number given by the ordinary differential equations type model.

A Relaxed-Projection Splitting Algorithm for Variational Inequalities in Hilbert Spaces, part I
Resumo: We introduce a relaxed-projection splitting algorithm for solving variational inequalities in Hilbert spaces for the sum of nonsmooth maximal monotone operators, where the feasible set is de.ned by a nonlinear and nonsmooth continuous convex function inequality. In our scheme, the orthogonal projections onto the feasible set are replaced by projections onto separating hyperplanes. Furthermore, each iteration of the proposed method consists of simple subgradient-like steps, which do not demand the solution of any nontrivial subproblem, using only the individual operators exploring the structure of the problem. Assuming monotonicity of the individual operators and the existence of solutions, we prove that the sequence generated converges weakly to a solution.
